Pizza Hut and Dominos, the 'delivery specialist'

I once wrote about pizza delivery service a few years back. There was a story about pizza hut delivery that took 1.5 hours as well as dominoes refusal to deliver to my area.. After so many years I decided to try ordering from pizza hut and dominoes again..

Yesterday morning, I called Pizza hut around 11.06am. The operator assured me that I'll get my pizza within 30 mins. At 11.40am I got a call saying that they will try to deliver the pizza before 12pm. The reason for their excuse is being short-handed bla bla bla etc.. There was no apology from them for dishounouring the promise and the man on the phone was a little rude to me. And yes, if they indeed deliver the pizza at 11.59am, that would surely be almost an hour since the time I placed the order. I cancelled the order. Later that afternoon, I wrote another letter to the regional manager of PH after my 2nd encounter with their bad service.

I tried calling Dominoes. Yet, after waiting for 7 years, they still refuse to deliver to my area even though they actually have a branch at kajang. I stay at Kg Sg Ramal Dalam, an area which is at the border of kajang/bangi and just at the corner of country height's area. When I called them, they said, it is out of their coverage and that it would take them more than 30mins to deliver to my area(!?). Never mind the fact that they still deliver to country heights, which is still further away frm the branch than my area. I scolded them telling them that by bike, it only takes 15 mins to reach my area.

It is amazing that people gives excuses to turn down a business. More frustrating is that in Malaysia, customer service is generally never a priority, regardless of what industry we are in.

Muhammad S.A.W convenant to christians

I'm no ulama or Islam scholar, am still digging deeper and learning about it. Sometimes, when we come upon a certain issue that may result in a potential conflict if not resolved, we should really think about what Muhammad S.AW (pbuh) would do should he still be living in the present times. .

But with all the talks about the use of 'Allah' and and the messy conflict that's about to start, I came across this article about a 'covenant' made by our beloved prophet to the christians from st catherine's monastery who were seeking shelter and protection.. here's the covenant:-

"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."

When I read this, I just realize how much respect we have or we should have for the christians. It just goes to show how liberal and open as well as tolerant our prophet was. Not only it clearly protects the right to property, freedom of work, and security of the person, but even freedom of religion( a christian person is not obliged to convert should he or she marry the other half).

I also agree with marina mahathir's blog that a confident muslim would not be confused of the term 'Allah' with that of christianity. There really is so much hatred and insecurity in us muslims now than there was over a thousand years ago and as a result, we feel our faith is so fragile it has to be protected down to the smallest reasons.

We dont' even trust ourselves..

p/s I'm really sad by the recent incident about iran's soccer federation NY greeting to israel and their withdrawal/resignation of the iran soccer head. This is one example of how our hatred overpowers everything we do in life. Once comment said 'the saddest thing is that the israel football federation was really very excited about getting the greeting, and even happily displayed it at their website to show that sports can overcome politics'
